Restock the basin with the extra buttercream so it can be used again if necessary. Use the cake scraper to finish smoothing the cake’s sides and add extra buttercream to fill in any spaces. Before removing the acrylic disc, cool the cake for fifteen minutes in the freezer or thirty minutes in the refrigerator.
